The Jewish American Princess Church

Lush velvet, pasta-like confetti rotillis colored iolite blue boinging off an emerald green dress. Hot pink garden roses fresh picked this morning strewn, no implanted on the gown. Pink leather slippers with tiny green velvet bows adorning lime green tights. This was the costume that Tessera wore to her coming out ball.

She entered the room as tri-colored confetti filled the air…pink, blue, and
green. She was the talk of the evening. No, she was the evening. Soiree,
soiree.

While everyone stared, Tessera went into a day dream. She was determined to wed her prince charming in the Jewish American Princess Church down on the corner of Schmolokov and Vine.

‘Twas a booful church frescoed mostly in burnt sienna. Part of the roof and facade was awash in a kind of cloudy blue green, like the sky on an almost perfect day. The stained glass windows(imported from Santa Cruz, California) were of brilliant design and color almost too intricate to describe. But they looked good enough to eat, like candy buttons translated into glass. Grecian style flowy wedding wear of chiffon

The front doors were cherry wood, emblazoned in a bold burgundy, while the the door’s lock and bolt were deep turquoise in color. They looked heavy, yet
glided open in silence.

A triumph of non-breakable colored glass bubbles of incredible hues, one more beautiful than the next and sitting on top of each other totem pole style…that was the steeple. A tip of fiber glass…sprayed a French blue
pointed to the sky. It whistled in the wind…actually tinkled.

Couldn’t she just picture it? Tessera and Prince Mystery locking hands and lips in the middle of the church aisle next fall as the autumn leaves tumbled down through the convertible skylight and around them in lieu of rice.

But that thought quickly vanished from Tessera’s dream. Baron Von Starehard swept her off her feet to dance to some techno-pop she hated. Any way this all occurred in the days before the “Big Virus” arrived. The maddening spring virus that was to rear its beautiful psychedelic head when the season came into full bloom.

Under the microscope, the virus was beautiful…a full array of spring colors…purples, aquas, hot pinks, butter yellows. But…

IT CHANGED THE COURSE OF THE EARTH AND ALL ITS PEOPLE.
